Encouraging and supporting citizen journalism in Nepal
It has been such, if we observe the success of Puja in terms of education she was from so-called untouchable and minority community girl. She was sponsored child once too. She was curious in her childhood days to learn anything. RCDC time and again used to give different orientation to her and her child clubs.
Those child clubs were also established by RCDC/WVIN under the education project. She used to speak in front of different people fluently. Being a child of lower class people it has been great thing for her to give speech in front of so-called people. She got scholarship from different organizations and material support from RCDC/WVIN which finally helped to cross the door of School Leaving Certificate in first division. It has been a great achievement that Puja is the only student from lower class people in Gaunshahar VDC to pass SLC in first Division. However she has been dropped out from the child sponsorship, she is remembering the days supported by RCDC/WVIN. At present she is studying in Shree Bal Kalyan Higher Secondary in grade eleven. Mr. Raghu Nath Ghimire, her former teacher says," She is such courageous student that I have ever taught, she was confident in her all speech activity which she has learnt those skills in school's child club's different activities." Her mother Sita Pariyar works as ECD facilitator in Shiva Shakti ECD center in Gaunshahar, which was established by RCDC/WVIN.According to Sita," I am very much satisfied with the performance of my daughter."
Her achievement is not limited in her community and school only. She is working as a news reader and program presenter in Radio Chautari 91.4 MHZ in Besishahar Lamjung. Lots of audiences are enhanced by the voice she has. Audiences from more than 25 districts are crazy to hear her voice when she hosts the program. She says," My all achievement is the result of the support that I got from RCDC/WVIN from my child hood."
